Särna/Idre nature campsites
On a stretch of just over 150 kilometers from south of Älvdalen to north of Idre, there are very nicely arranged nature campsites.
You can spend the night there with a caravan, camper or car for a small fee and they have an outdoor toilet and a shed with a fireplace and there is also the possibility of throwing away garbage. Most are located directly by the water and with the possibility of fishing, but make sure you have a valid fishing license in that case.
It only costs 60 kronor per night or 300 kronor for a whole week. Payment is made in cash that is placed in an envelope in a designated box at the site or with Swish.
They are signposted with "Lägerplats" from the country roads and there are numbered places at each campsite. It is a fantastic opportunity to spend the night while passing through, but several of them are so nice that they are worth a road trip in themselves.
Make sure to keep it clean and tidy, if the garbage cans are full, take it to the next campsite as they are quite close to each other. Also, only stand in marked places so that you do not obstruct others or other traffic such as garbage trucks, etc.
