Omberg - beautiful hikes in stunning nature

Omberg, located on the eastern shore of Lake Vättern in Östergötland, is a place where nature and culture meet in a dramatic and beautiful environment. The mountain offers a variety of hiking trails through beech forests, along steep cliffs and past historical sites.

Omberg has a network of hikes that suit both beginners and experienced hikers. Some of the most popular are:

• Ellen Keys trail (6 km): A shorter trail that passes Ellen Keys beach and offers beautiful views of Lake Vättern.

• Älvarum trail (7 km): A medium-difficult trail that goes through forests and along the shore of Lake Vättern.

• Omberg around (26 km): A circular trail that takes you around the entire mountain and offers varying nature and views.

Omberg is a perfect excursion destination for those with a motorhome as there are several nice pitches in the area. Please note that some of them may have limited facilities.

Whether you are looking for adventure or relaxation, Omberg has something to offer.

There are several rest areas in the area but also a hostel that offers a cafe and meals if you pre-order them.

There are several small roads in the area and some are very narrow and note that the sea route between Stocklycke and Borghamn is one-way until Ommaborgen.
