Låtefoss - iconic waterfall
Driving through the dramatic Oddadalen valley in Vestland, Norway, you will come across one of the country’s most iconic waterfalls: Låtefoss. With a height of 165 meters, two separate streams of water rush down from the mountain, unite in the middle of the falls and thunder on under the historic stone bridge from 1859 that today carries road nr 13. It is a place where the power of nature and engineering meet in perfect harmony.
What is unique about Låtefoss is its accessibility – the waterfall is right next to the road, making it an obvious stop for car travelers in the region . When you drive over the bridge, you can feel the damp mist of the water hitting the car, an experience that enhances the feeling of being in the middle of nature’s spectacle. If you drive a convertible with top down or a motorcycle, it is an extra special feeling!
