Snøhetta Viewpoint – architecture meets magnificent mountain world

A hike to Snøhetta Viewpoint on Dovrefjell is an experience where nature and architecture merge in a way that is truly touching. From the parking lot at Tverrfjellet, it is an easy hike of about 1.5 kilometers up to the viewpoint building.

Once there, a unique building in wood and steel, designed by Snøhetta architects, awaits you with a panoramic view of the mountain landscape and Snøhetta's mighty peaks on the horizon. Here you can sit on the built-in wooden benches and look out over the kingdom of reindeer, musk oxen and arctic foxes. It is quiet, magnificent and calming at the same time.

The tip is to bring coffee, a warm sweater and preferably binoculars – and stay a long time.
